A Chinese soldier gladly tells merciful Major Saitô all about the positions of Chinese army units. And, conveniently, a war correspondent happens to be there to record the whole thing. Perhaps the correspondent also serves as an interpreter, or, perhaps Major Saitô knows Chinese--the printmakers did not worry too much about accuracy in details!
