This image from Hong Kong in the 1980s shows the spirit of the Legalist first Qin emperor still hovering over present-day China. The human figure at the bottom left is a reference to the emperor's famous terracotta army. The first emperor is said to have begun construction of the Great Wall, but even if he did, the wall that we know today as a #great landmark# came about  in later dynasties. Still, it is common in China to think of the great wall as nicely symbolizing the Qin first emperor's megalomania--and, in the case of this image's implied message, not only the first emperor.
